Planning a Lesson that Integrates Digital Technology

For this question, I am going to plan a simple English lesson for Grade 6 learners,
focusing on writing a short story. I believe technology can make lessons more
interesting and help learners be more involved.

Lesson Topic: Writing a Short Story
Digital Tool Used: Google Docs and Padlet
Lesson Duration: 1 hour

Plan:

1. Introduction (10 minutes):
I will start by showing learners a short video on YouTube about the basic parts of
a story (beginning, middle, and end). This will help them understand the structure
before they start writing.
2. Group Activity (20 minutes):
I will divide the class into small groups. Each group will use Padlet, an online
board, to brainstorm ideas for their story. They can post pictures, short
sentences, or even voice notes. This makes it fun and gives all learners a chance
to share their ideas — even the shy ones.
3. Writing Time (20 minutes):
Learners will then work in pairs to write their short stories using Google Docs. I
