Frameworks (25 Marks)
Introduction to RDA:
Resource Description and Access (RDA) is a modern
cataloguing standard designed for the digital environment of the
21st century. It was developed to replace the Anglo-American

related institutions.
RDA supports resource discovery and access by enabling users
to find, identify, select, and obtain resources. It is aligned with
international models, making bibliographic data interoperable
across different systems and institutions.
Definition and Purpose of RDA:
Definition: RDA is a set of instructions and guidelines for
resource description and access, created to address the
needs of modern information environments.
