1. Discussion of Strengths
Upon Completion of the Self-Assessment, I found my five leadership
strengths are relator, harmony, analytical, restorative, and consistency.
These results taught me how to be a more effective leader by leveraging
my strengths. It also tells me how others may view my leadership style and
how to understand and execute my way of thinking concerning leadership
better.
Strength 1 – Relator
This strength “relator” highlights a leadership style based on trust
and meaningful connections. As a leader, I prioritize my team members
while building mutual respect and strong relationships rather than
transactional work relationships. Leveraging this strength can create a
collaborative workplace where team members feel appreciated.
, As an IT manager, this strength directly influences how I approach
communications in a team environment. I seek to understand and see the
perspectives of each of my team members. This allows me to make more
informed decisions when filling gaps in skill or understanding why a team
member might resist a change in an environment that prioritizes honesty
and support. This will help remote employees feel like they are part of the
team, even if they aren’t physically in the office.

The strength “harmony” indicates a leadership style focused on
collaboration. As a leader, I prioritize creating a workplace where people feel
aligned to common goals and value a shared understanding. I tend to
promote calm dialogue rather than push personal agendas and work to unify
people toward a common goal where differing viewpoints can exist without
affecting team morale and productivity.
