Integrated Service Delivery in Social Welfare
1. Levels of Intervention in Social Welfare Service Delivery
Social welfare service delivery operates across multiple levels to address the diverse
needs of individuals, families, and communities.
Prevention: Aims to avert the occurrence of social problems by promoting well-
being and resilience. Strategies may involve community education, awareness
campaigns, and support programs designed to strengthen protective factors.
Early Intervention: Targets emerging issues at the initial stages to prevent
escalation. This involves identifying at-risk individuals or groups and providing
timely support, such as counseling, skill development, and resource linkage.
Statutory Intervention: Involves legal measures and mandated services when
individuals' safety or well-being is at significant risk. This includes child protection
services, involuntary commitment, and other court-ordered interventions.
Rehabilitation: Focuses on restoring individuals' functioning and integration into
society after experiencing significant challenges. Services may encompass
therapy, substance abuse treatment, and support for reintegration into the
community.
Continuing Care: Provides ongoing support to individuals with chronic or long-
term needs to maintain their well-being and prevent relapse. This includes case
management, support groups, and regular monitoring.
