This paper consists of five pages.
Instructions:
A take-home examination is an electronic document that you submit to us as evidence that you
have attained the objectives of the module. It is the equivalent of an examination.
You must compile your take-home examination and submit it online as a PDF document (Adobe
Acrobat).
Please read the instructions carefully and answer each question in as much detail as possible.
Answer all the questions.
Note that all questions are compulsory.
Remember to sign the declaration of original work.
This is an examination, not an assignment. Once you have submitted your script, there can be
no requests to resubmit. The only exception is that if your document got corrupted during the
transfer, we will contact you and ask you to resend it. Keep a backup copy on your system until
your marks have been finalized. This contact, if it is ever needed, will happen via your myLife e-
mail account only.

electronic and print) through the proper reference techniques as stipulated in this module.

Additional student instructions
1. Students must upload their answer scripts as a single PDF file. (Answer scripts must not
be password protected or uploaded as read-only files.)
2. NO e-mailed scripts will be accepted.
3. Students are advised to preview their submissions (answer scripts) to ensure that they
are legible and that the correct answer script file has been uploaded.
4. Students are permitted to resubmit their answer scripts should their initial submission be
unsatisfactory.
5. Incorrect file formats and uncollated answer scripts will not be considered.
6. Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on unofficial examinations platforms
(including the Invigilator cellphone application) will not be marked and no opportunity will
be granted for resubmission.

7. The mark awarded for an incomplete submission will be your final mark. No opportunity
for resubmission will be granted.
8. The mark awarded for an illegible scanned submission will be your final mark. No
opportunity for resubmission will be granted.
9. Only submissions from registered student accounts will be accepted.
10. Students who have not utilised invigilation or proctoring tools will be subjected to
disciplinary processes.
11. Students suspected of dishonest conduct during the examination will be subjected to
disciplinary processes. Unisa has zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any other forms of
academic dishonesty.
12. Students have one hour after the official examination time to submit their answer scripts.
Submissions made after one hour will be rejected in terms of the examination regulations
and will not be marked.
13. Students experiencing network challenges or loadshedding are advised to apply for an
aegrotat within three (3) days of the examination session by furnishing supporting
evidence.
14. Students experiencing technical challenges should contact the SCSC at 080 000 1870 or
send an e-mail to or refer to Get-Help for the list of additional
contact numbers. Only communication received from your myLife account will be
considered.
