Question 1

1.1 Considering this, identify and critically discuss the external factors
(PESTL) triggering change at Tech SA. In your answer, incorporate relevant
theory and examples from the case study.
Introduction
Schein (1990) defined organisational culture as "the pattern of basic assumptions
that a group invents, discovers, or develops as it learns to cope with its problems of
external adaptation and internal integration," as cited by Hayes (2018). These give
rise to 'the way things are done around here' in terms of work practises and
interpersonal relationships. In other words, various factors such as the political
climate, economic factors, social factors, technological dynamism, and legal factors,
among others, have a negative or positive impact on culture. These five factors will
be critically discussed in relation to Tech SA's change trajectory in this essay.

providers.
Economic factors
Due to a variety of factors, Tech SA is experiencing a challenging economic
environment (Zhang, 2020). Economic factors are those that affect the overall
economy and are primarily financial in nature. Inflation, rising interest rates, and
other factors affect businesses in every country. Tech SA, like any other company, is
operating in a volatile environment in South Africa, which has a long-term negative
