• Vocabulary: Knowing the meaning of words is vital for understanding texts.
The more words a learner knows, the better they can interpret what they’re
reading.
• Comprehension: This is the ultimate goal of reading—understanding and
interpreting the meaning of a text. It involves connecting what’s being read to
what the learner already knows.
