Direct and Indirect (Reported) speech:
Required changes (Direct to Indirect):
1. Punctuation: omit the “”/! / ?. Keep capital letters and full stops.
2. Pronouns: I/ We change to He/ They
3. Verbs: verbs move one tense into the past: is-was; were-had been
4. Time and place:
• today → that day
• tomorrow → the following day / the next day
• yesterday → the day before / the previous day
• the day before yesterday → two days before
• last week → the week before / the previous week
• next week → the following week
• now → then
• ago → before
• here → there
• this → that
• these → those
