1.1 The Employment Equity Act gives clear guidelines on the
use of psychological assessment tools. Discuss these
guidelines and, in your discussion, also make an
argument for or against the adequacy of the Act to deal
with concerns of psychological assessments. (15)
1.2 The Human Resource (HR) Manager in your company is of
the opinion that any person with a matric qualification and
3 years of HR experience will be able to administer
psychological tests. Knowing the strict regulations that
govern the use of psychological tests, you have voiced
your objection. The relevant manager has requested you to
provide a written document in which you motivate your
objection by discussing the following:
(a) the responsibilities of organisations to ensure fair
assessment practices (5)
(b) the rights of the test-taker (7)
(c) the negative consequences when tests are used by
unqualified persons (3)
