INTRODUCTION
Communication is an essential aspect of human existence, forming the very foundation of our
relationships, societies, and civilizations. It is a dynamic process that goes beyond mere exchange of
words, encompassing an intricate web of thoughts, emotions, and expressions.
In this portfolio exam ,i dwell on the communication livelihood.
1.1.1 Intrapersonal communication
Intrapersonal communication involves internal dialogue and self-reflection. An example from my life is
when I'm deciding which course to take next semester at Unisa. I weigh the pros and cons of each
option, considering my interests, career goals, and available time, engaging in a mental conversation
with myself to reach a decision. This is intrapersonal because the communication is entirely within my
own mind
1.1.2 Transpersonal communication
Transpersonal communication involves communication with a higher power or spiritual entity. For
instance, during moments of prayer or meditation, I engage in transpersonal communication. I express
gratitude, seek guidance, or reflect on my spiritual beliefs, feeling a connection to something beyond
myself. This interaction with a spiritual force exemplifies transpersonal communication
1.1.3 Group communication
Group communication involves interaction within a small group of people. A good example is
participating in a group project for a Unisa module. We collaborate, share ideas, assign tasks, and
resolve conflicts to achieve a common goal. The dynamic interaction and shared purpose within this
small group clearly demonstrate group communication
1.1.4 Public communication
