No. You are not exempt from TSA checkpoint screening or random inspections at the Employee Portals and other areas throughout the airport. What should you do if your ID badge is lost/stolen? Challenge Procedure As an airport employee, it is your responsibility to challenge or report any individual in the SIDA who is not displaying an authorized ID badge. • approach the person and ask to see their ID badge in a non-threatening manner • check the badge thoroughly, verifying the correct color, photo and expiration date • if they do not have a valid ID badge or you're uncomfortable approaching a suspicious individual - contact DPS at 911 and give a detailed description of the person and their location • do not attempt to physically restrain the individual, just keep the individual under observation until DPS arrives It is a security violation if you fail to challenge someone not displaying their ID badge in the SIDA - get in the habit of looking for badges because this process is frequently tested by the TSA and other security officials Personal Escort Procedures On occasion, you may be required to escort individuals into the SIDA by either providing a personal escort or a vehicle escort. It is a security violation for badge holders and may result n the suspension or revocation of access privileges. It is a security violation to provide an escort if you do not have: an "E" or an "A" printed on your badge, because you are not authorized to escort anyone at any time. Employees driving an AOA authorized vehicle that is providing a vehicle escort for an unpermitted vehicle must: • be authorized to drive on the AOA • have a SIDA badge that has an "E" or an "A" printed on it • identify themselves to the security personnel at the AOA gate by presenting a valid SIDA badge that is programmed with access for the AOA gate All occupants of the vehicle providing the escort who have SIDA badges must: present their badge and it must be programmed with access for the AOA gate If an occupant of the vehicle providing the escort has a Green or White badge, or no badge at all: they must present valid proof of identity to the security personnel at the AOA gate and they must remain under escort when exiting the vehicle while on the SIDA. The driver of the permitted vehicle must also identify who they are escorting and where they are going. The driver of the unpermitted vehicle being escorted must: present a valid driver's license to the security personnel and must remain in visual and physical proximity of the permitted vehicle providing the escort at all times. All occupants of the vehicle being escorted must present valid proof of identity to the security personnel at the AOA gate and must remain under personal escort when exiting the vehicle while on the SIDA. Acceptable documents for valid proof of identity can be found: on TSA's website at under the link for Acceptable Identification at the checkpoint. Some AOA gates require the use of: an intellikey (electronic key) to open the gate. Insert and turn the intellikey unless there is a sign that says otherwise. Intellikeys expire: when your badge expires and must be presented to the ACO when renewing your badge. • Do not allow others to use your intellikey • you must return your intellikey to the ACO if you no longer need it or no longer work at DFW
