KEY ELEMENTS OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND LEARNING
The study guide and prescribed book refer to 'the virtual world of education, training and learning,1 Mo
specifically, the prescribed book handles it under examples. It is expected of you to write an essay-type
assignment on these examples, namely e-learning, mobile learning, social media, massive open online
courses (MOOC’s), open educational resources (OER's) educational games and webinars.
The essay-type assignment (portfolio) must indicate that you are able to undertake research on your ow
the results of your research must be presented in a scientific manner. More particularly, this implies tha
are able to argue and debate these examples within the broader context of the human resource functio
public sector. This implies that you have to try to convince the reader by providing, discussing and expl
reasons that support the importance of following a specific procedure to ensure that these examples ar
handled in an orderly manner. Actually, the purpose is to talk it out in a formal way, to put opposing view
and discuss them
Wherever possible, you should relate your answers to your own work situation It should be clear from y
portfolio that you have consulted various sources. You are expected to consult at least 15 sources (incl
combination of primary and secondary sources) for every assessment you are doing in this module. N8

note that the length of the portfolio should be restricted to a maximum of 8 typed pages (IV2 spacing)
excluding the title page, table of contents and list of sources
