QUESTION 1
In your own words, write a short description of the following concepts:
1.1 Inclusive Education.
Inclusive education is an approach where all students, regardless of their abilities
or disabilities, learn together in the same classroom. It focuses on ensuring that
every child has an equal opportunity to learn, participate, and feel valued. This
means creating learning environments that can accommodate diverse needs, such
as different teaching methods or additional resources, to help all students
succeed. The goal of inclusive education is to promote equality and respect for all
learners, helping them to grow academically, socially, and emotionally (UNESCO,
2017)
1.2 A transformative teacher.
A transformative teacher is an educator who seeks to bring positive change to
their students and society. They do this by using teaching methods that
encourage critical thinking, creativity, and social justice. Transformative teachers
aim to not only impart knowledge but also inspire their students to become
active, engaged citizens who can challenge and improve the world around them.
These teachers are often flexible, open-minded, and committed to continuous
learning and self-improvement, adapting their practices to meet the needs of all
learners (Mezirow, 2000).
