• "Old culture" will be grown over 2wks in LB+X, then transferred into Tube 2: fresh cells in
LB+X. We will measure CFU by serial diluting at 0,2,7 days. -> Hypothesis 2: Does variable
X impact the GASP phenotype? (Will compare Tube 1 and 2 GASP phenotypes).
• This week's content:
• Beer ingredients: malt (grain--barley), hops (adds bitter taste), yeast (organisms converting
malt into ethanol alcohol), water.
• Beer protocol:
1. Boil wort.
2. Add hops and boil again.
3. Cool in ice.
