Purpose of a Performance Management System
A performance management system (PMS) is a structured process used by
organizations to evaluate and enhance the performance of their employees. The
primary purpose of a PMS is to align individual performance with the overall strategic

business objectives. Key objectives of a PMS include:

and strategic objectives. By setting clear expectations and measurable goals, a PMS

to communicate expectations, monitor performance, provide feedback, and coach
employees for improved results. This continuous feedback loop enables employees
