Voltage - Potential difference or driving force of electrons between two lines
Current - Measured in amps. Movement of electrons through a circuit when a difference of
potential exists.
Direct current (DC) - Circuit electrons flow in only one direction from negative to positive.
Frequency - (Hertz) number of times the alternating current changes from 0 to its peak positive
then zero to peak negative then back to zero.
Power - Amount of energy used. Determined by voltage, current, and resistance in a circuit.
Resistance - Impedance or opposition to the flow of current. Measured in Ohms. Every circuit
must have resistance.
Circuit - a path for an electrical current to flow around
Series circuit - An electric circuit with a single path. (Castle wall)
Parallel circuit - A circuit that contains more than one path for current flow. (Parachute)
Series-Parallel Circuit - Combination of series and parallel circuits.
Continuity - Continuous or or unbroken path for current to flow.
short circuit - Accidental connection of lower resistance within a circuit.
