2.1 The progress of each learner measured by assessment is known as norm-referenced

assessment.

2.2 A teacher who sets assessments in such a way that it is relatively easy for learners to pass is

assisting the learners a great deal.

2.3 Every teacher should strive for credibility, dependability, usefulness, objectivity and

economy in compiling and marking assessments.

2.4 Currently, Economics learners are progressed with a final pass mark above 29% made up of

75% from school-based assessments and 25% from the final examination.

2.5 Moderation refers to the process that ensures that the assessment tasks are fair, valid and

reliable.
