QUESTION 1
1.1. Define the following terms:
1.1.1. Pedagogy (2)

Pedagogy is the theory and practice of teaching, specifically the methods and principles used to educate
and instruct learners. It involves understanding how people learn, and how to effectively facilitate
learning and development in individuals. Pedagogy also encompasses the overall approach to teaching
and the strategies and techniques used to convey knowledge and promote critical thinking.

1.1.2. Pedagogical Content Knowledge (2)

Pedagogical Content Knowledge refers to teachers' understanding of both their subject matter and the
best ways to teach it to students. It involves knowing how to adapt and present content in ways that are
meaningful and engaging for learners, as well as understanding common misconceptions and difficulties
students may have with the subject. This knowledge helps teachers effectively plan and deliver their
lessons to support student learning.

1.1.3. Epistemologies
Epistemologies refer to the study and philosophical examination of the nature, origin, scope, and validity
of knowledge. It is the branch of philosophy that explores how knowledge is acquired and evaluated, as
well as the different ways of knowing and understanding the world. Epistemologies also examine the
relationship between perception, reason, culture, and language in shaping our understanding of reality.
