,Anticipated difficulties: Suggested solutions:

1. Chinese students might struggle with pronunciation of words with a “r” in them (draw, referee) 1. Give students a mirror to practice with showing them how to pronounce the “r”
and replace them with “l” or “w” sound, and how your tongue should touch your palate or by giving them audio-clips to
listen to on how to correctly pronounce the word

2. Arabian students might have difficulty between the “p” and “b” sound (beat) and have difficulty 2. Ask students to feel their vocal cords when they make the sound. They should feel a
pronouncing them vibrating sound when making the “b” sound

3. Students may confuse words like beat, draw or warm-up with words spelled identically, but 3. Ask different questions between the different words and show the difference in
with different meanings meaning and use. Use collocation sentences in the worksheet activity for students to
learn the different meanings in context.
