1. Describe components/spheres of the environment as resources
2. Explain the concept of ecosystems as a key pillar of environmental
wellbeing
3. Explain human activities and their impacts on the environment,
including population growth, agriculture, industrialization and human
settlement
4. Explain the challenge of climate change and interventions, including
adaptation and mitigation
5. Explain key strategies for environmental management and sustainable
development, including legal & institutional frameworks, environmental
planning, sustainable development, environmental impact assessment
6. Explain key features of environmental education (goals, principles,
approaches, and strategies), and education for sustainable development
7. Develop skills and competencies for environmental interventions
through education
8. Develop an appreciation (transformatively) of the environment as
“mother nature”, and the role of the educator in its management and
sustainable development
