As a part of my assignemnt I have been asked to carrry out a market research bout a local
buisnesss open ing in the area, I will create and deliver a market reaseach then analise its
results.
Define objectives and problem- the objectives for this assignment are to gather thoughts
and opinions of the public regarding the opening of a pet friendly café in Newtownabbey
this task will help determine the decisions made with solid data
Determine research design- I have decided to carry out a market research using a
questionnaire as my research method as this was the fastest and easiest way to get results
back from people asked, questionnaires are easily analysed, a large number of people can
be reached to without spending a lot of money on the research.
Design and prepare research instrument – the questionnaire I have designed contains 10
questions which contain a variety of opened and closed questions and is also anonymous
which encourages the people answering to answer honestly
Sampling and data collection- I am intending to distribute the questionnaires to a variety of
people to get different results, I intend to have at least 3 different age groups answering and
I will distribute them in college and outside of college preferably to people within the area
the café will open in.
Analyse data- this data will give me a rough idea of what the public think of the business and
what I could possibly change I will fully analyse the data as a part of my assignment.
Visualise and communicate results – the use of graphs, charts and pictures will be useful in
my work as it will help to understand the data provided without reading paragraphs about
the information.
