What is ASD?
-a complex neurodevelopmental disorder(biologically based l
-characterized by: abnormalities in social communication and unusu
& interests
-touches every aspect of child’s interaction with his/her world,
parts of the brain & undermines traits that make us human(soc
responsiveness, ability to communicate & feelings for other peo
-all children with ASD display its core features, children vary widely
pervasiveness, & severity of their symptoms, abilities, associated c
supports [autism literally means “within oneself”

a) when should I be concerned?
b) how can I understand what is happening?
