According to Section 25 of the OHS Act, define the purpose of the Workmen’s
compensation Act 30 of 1941. (5)

❖ Provide for the compensation of persons who sustain occupational injuries or diseases or
die as a result of these occupational injuries or diseases.
❖ Relates to the diagnosis of an occupational injury or disease by a medical practitioner,
who is compelled by the Workmen’s Compensation Act to report the injury or disease to
the chief inspector in the stipulated period of time and prescribed manner.
