In your response explain why you support the sociocultural theory
How are you using the theory?
I actively incorporate the sociocultural theory into my teaching practices as a lens
through which to understand the dynamics of learning and cognitive development. When
planning lessons, I consider how social interactions, cultural backgrounds, and language
influence students' learning experiences. For example, I design collaborative activities
that encourage peer interaction and knowledge sharing, recognizing that students learn
not only from teachers but also from each other. Also, I create culturally responsive
learning materials and incorporate diverse perspectives into the curriculum to ensure
that students from different cultural backgrounds feel valued and represented. So using
the sociocultural theory, I aim to create inclusive and engaging learning environments
where students can thrive academically and socially.
