Assignment 2 (30 hour intro)

Lesson Plans (100)

Student name: Fahemah Mohamed

Date: 19 June 2023

Class size: 30 Students

Class: Elementary

Level: Beginners

Duration: 1 hour

Topic: Types of foods:

Learning new vocabulary, names of foods and ingredients.

Materials: Posters, pictures, flash cards, YouTube videos, real food ingredients and recipe books
worksheets. Scissors and magazines to cut out foods and ingredients.

Lesson focus is to get the students to become familiar with the names of foods and ingredients that they
are accustomed to eating and cooking and new food types and ingredients.

Lesson Objective

Students must learn the types and names of ingredients used to make certain foods. Students identify
their favorite foods as well as various types of other foods by using methods such as calling out or
pointing to the correct word or drawing or matching the columns

Assumptions: Assuming that some students may know types of foods and ingredients. They may very
well know about types of foods but not necessarily in English.

Anticipating: these types of problems, or other problems such as internet issues and not being able to
play videos etc.

Solution: Therefore, the solution would be to make students repeat the words in Drill pronunciation
until students are relatively comfortable. Also ensure to have Posters and printed work to make lessons
more interesting. This way students can make associations with the words and pictures.

Introduction:

Students will be shown various ingredients and they will be encouraged to name them and relate them
to dishes that they are familiar with. They will be given real food items and asked to name them, this
way the teacher will have some understanding as to the level of the students' knowledge.

Presentation:

Pictures of food dishes such as rice, potatoes, onions, Pasta or potato chips, fried eggs and even cakes
will be displayed on Posters. Sentences such as. “This is called ketchup, we use ………. on our fries. “We
use ……… to make Ketchup. SS repeat and debate.
