Competitive advantage
Goed georganiseerde scm en logistiek zorgen voor een groot concurrentievoordeel.
Meestal is een concurrentie strategie gebaseerd op kosten (bijvoorbeeld Primark) of op waarde
(bijvoorbeeld dure merken).

1. Cost advantage: heef men geleerd dat hoe groter het volume isn hoge lager de kosten zijn.
2. Value advantage: men richt zich op een bepaald segment en biedt zeer goede service.

, In bovenstaande afeelding is te zien dat het doel eigenlijk is om zowel een kosten voordeel te
hebben als een waarde voordeel. Een voorbeeld van een bedrijf die dit doel heef bereikt is
bijvoorbeeld Hema.

Een bedrijf die geen van beide voordelen kan bieden zal weinig tot geen succes hebbenn zo’n
voorbeeld is V&D.

Micheal Porter leerde men dat binnen een organisatie naar iedere activiteit (van de value chain)
moet worden gekeken of het competitieve voordelen bidetn zo niet dan moet het bedrijf deze
activiteit niet meer uitvoeren en misschien wel outsourcen.
