Exam question and answer
This is not just a summary of the work.
This is information you need to equip yourself with in order to
provide an answer to a long question
like;
Discuss Bandura’s social learning theory of aggression and its
importance to explain criminal behaviour.
OR
Social learning theorists view violence as something learnt through
a process called behaviour modelling. Discuss Bandura’s social
learning theory.
The long questions are usually for 10 marks, 15 marks or 25 marks.
Keep your answers informative, as short as possible and your
explanations to the point.
Focus on what the actual question needs you to write.
Social learning theory (Albert Bandura)
3 main explanations
How individuals learn by association...
Behaviour reinforced by rewards and punishment (operant learning)
Behaviour reinforced by observing others as models (social learning)
Behaviour learnt, becomes automatic and internalised (classical conditioning)
These 3 principles explains the role parents / peers / environmental forces play in the
development of a child’s / a young adult’s disruptive / deviant / eventually criminal
behaviour.
