Most common Side Effects: orthostatic hypotension, bradycardia Benazepril: Captopril: Lisinopril: Aneurysm: Acute Renal Failure is a serious inability of the kidneys to carry out the normal functions necessary to maintain fluid and electrolyte imbalance and eliminate the end products of metabolism from the body. Signs & Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, may go into coma, increased bleeding time, dryness of mucous membranes, difficulty voiding, oliguria. Nursing Interventions: Vital Signs, check abdomen for tenderness, monitor & record I & O-urinary catheter, daily weight, monitor for signs of fluid & electrolyte imbalances, monitor for signs of infection. DIET: restricted fluids, low proteins, low Na, low K+, low Ca snacks: apples, grapes, bread, margarine, sherbert. MEDS: Amphogel-binds with Phosphates, Na Bicarbonate- acidosis, Antihypertensives, Diuretics-*Mannitol, K+-lowering agents: Insulin & glucose, Kayexalate, Dopamine-increases renal perfusion. Angina Pectoris Angina Pectoris-refers to the paroxysmal (severe, usually episodic) thoracic pain and choking feeling caused by decreased oxygen flow to or lack of oxygen(anoxia) of myocardium. Angina-spasmodic, cramp-like, choking feeling Pectoris- chest or breast area Caused by Decreased O2 flow to or anoxia of the myocardium Most common cause- Atherosclerosis Results in ischemia of the heart muscle
