Sputum is collected in clear glass bottles with
caps. The amount of daily sputum is taken for
bacteriological and macroscopic and
microscopic analysis. The patient should
clean his teeth and rinse his mouth before
expectoration sputum into the glass bottles.
Sputum consists of mucus, serous fluid and
parasites. Analysing sputum helps to establish
the aetiology of certain diseases.
