1(a) Literature can be divided into 3 genres: poetry, drama, and fiction.
• Poetry is a genre characterized by the use of rhythmic language and often focuses on
emotions and imagery. It is written in verse and can take various forms such as sonnets,
haikus, or ballads. An example of poetry is William Shakespeare's sonnet "Shall I
compare thee to a summer's day?"
