1. Terms of Reference:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Smart Minds International University,
Professor Farai Mangwiro, has requested an investigation of possible factors leading
to the constant decrease in student enrolment in the university. A report, including
recommendations, will be submitted to the CEO by 25 September 2023.
2. Procedures:
To conduct this investigation, the following procedures were undertaken:
2.1 Data collection: Information was gathered from various sources, including
student enrolment records, feedback from students and the Student Representative
Council (SRC), and interviews with university staff.
2.2 Analysis: The collected data was carefully analysed to identify any patterns or
trends that may be influencing the decrease in student enrolment. Factors such as
the online application and registration process, dates for application and registration,
and requests for on-campus registration were examined.
2.3 Feedback: Meetings were held with students, SRC members, and university staff
to understand their perspectives and gather any additional information that could
contribute to the investigation.
