1. Mechanical inspiration: God, through His Holy Spirit, dictated every
sentence, period, word, comma and capital letter to the writers of the
Bible.
2. Organical inspiration: God used people to write the Bible, every
writer wrote the different documents down, driven by the Spirit, in
terms of their cultural and social location and circumstances, as well
as their linguistic abilities and insight (Word of God in human words).
3. Functional inspiration: Inspiration that has to do with how the early
church used the available writings, the decision to make use of
certain books by excluding several other available writings (non-
