As part of their efforts to discourage crime and hold those who violate the law accountable, law enforcement agencies patrol their assigned regions to establish a visible presence. In accordance with the law, the judicial system is responsible for interpreting the law that has been broken and imposing a fair and just sentence. Law enforcement agencies are also responsible for conducting investigations and collecting evidence against those suspected of violations of the law, while prosecutors bring these cases to court to pursue criminal justice. Lastly, the court system is responsible for making a final determination of guilt or innocence.

The legal system often has difficulties dealing with situations in which law enforcement agencies do not follow the correct regulations and procedures. The reason for this may be due to a variety of factors, including insufficient evidence, incorrectly collected evidence, or faulty arrest mechanisms, to name a few. It is therefore necessary to dismiss and then release the charges filed against the suspect in light of the aforementioned factors.
