, QUESTION 1

1.1 Learning theory refers to a collection of principles, concepts, and models that aim to
explain how individuals acquire knowledge, develop skills, and change their behavior. It
provides a framework for understanding the learning process and guides educators in
designing effective instructional strategies. Essentially, learning theories help us
understand why and how learning occurs, and they provide insights into how we can
optimize the learning experience for students.

1.2 Behaviourist Learning Theory focuses on the role of external stimuli and responses
in shaping behavior. Lloyd can utilize this theory to make learners receptive to teaching
by following these principles:

 Use clear and specific instructions: Provide students with precise guidelines and
expectations. Clearly communicate what they need to do and what the desired
outcomes are. This clarity helps learners understand what is expected of them
and reduces confusion.

 Positive reinforcement: Encourage and reinforce desired behaviors and
achievements. Recognize and reward students for their efforts and successes.
This reinforcement can be in the form of praise, grades, certificates, or other
tangible rewards. Positive reinforcement enhances motivation and encourages
students to engage actively in the learning process.

 Use repetition and practice: Provide ample opportunities for students to practice
and apply what they have learned. Breaking down complex tasks into smaller,
manageable steps and allowing for repeated practice helps reinforce learning
and build confidence.

 Provide immediate feedback: Offer prompt and constructive feedback to
students, highlighting their strengths and areas for improvement. Feedback helps
learners understand their progress and make necessary adjustments. It also
enhances motivation and guides students towards achieving the desired learning
outcomes.
