QUESTION 1: (15)

1.1 Incidental learning involves using naturally occurring opportunities and
interactions with the environment to teach skills, provide information, and
increase a desired behaviour (Study guide for HLT3701).

Briefly explain how you would facilitate the learning of the four language skills
incidentally by creating a language-rich classroom for Grade R learners.
Discuss at least THREE (3) activities that you would do in your
Grade R class. (3x3) (9)

reading, and writing) in a language-rich classroom for Grade R learners, you can
incorporate various activities. Here are three examples:

and speaking skills as students comprehend the language, build vocabulary,
and practice pronunciation

2. Language Play Centers:
Set up language play centers in the classroom where students can engage
in activities that promote language exploration and interaction. For
instance, you can create a pretend grocery store corner where students take
turns being the shopkeeper and customer, using appropriate language for
buying and selling. This activity enhances listening, speaking, and reading
skills as students engage in conversations, follow instructions, and read
labels or price tags

3. Writing Stations:

Designate a writing station in the classroom equipped with various writing
materials such as markers, crayons, pencils, and paper. Encourage students
to use the station to express their ideas, thoughts, or stories through
drawing and writing. Provide prompts or picture cards to stimulate their
