Jaydip Pravinkumar

Interviewee 2
Name: Pravinkumar Babu Job role: Customer assistance Tesco

Tesco is a place where millions of people work in hundreds of stores and so that one of the
people is customer assistance in one of the store. Have been working there for the last 4
months and really enjoys working there. The person is on tills and also he is able to learn
how to be a team leader and he have experienced once. He is also given a variety of
additional tasks so that he can develop skills and so that the person is well skill and so that
not much training is needed because he learns the skills on its own. He said that it is a good
job because there are lots of advantages that the job has firstly that they allows you to work
there even if you are a students and lots more advantages. He decided to work there as it is
also well known company and that where millions of people shop. The company also offers
flexibility when it comes to the working hour and it lets the employee to choose the working
hours as they can offer a full time or a part time job in order so that it fits your lifestyle.
Qualification is required Tesco expect their employees to have at least the 5 GCSEs and the
basic qualification achieved and they are also looking for the people who have working for a
retailer shop before so that the employee is experienced. He was also required an A or a B
grade in maths in order to get the job because it involves maths as well so that the customer
is given the right amount of change from their bills. At the beginning Tesco will require that
their employees to compete a basic training which include working on the tills as well as the
most important information, so that they will need to know what they are doing on tills and
how the tills electronic works, in order to work effectively. The favourite part of the job role
for my interview is that he would like to help customer, for example he likes helping the
customer to find a specific product that the customer is looking for. The working
environment of the job is good and claim and this is because everyone including the
customers are very friendly and helpful. During the working hours my interview will have to
be on the tills and helping the customers to find a specific product and also take care of the
deliveries that arrive in the store from the post man like the letters etc. Overall he will have
to make sure that he does the best of himself that he can offer to the customers. He works
two days in a week which is Thursdays and Saturdays and these days are chosen because so
that it allows the person to work and also study in the college. He works a 13 hours a week.
And Holidays are allows and it is that 21 days a year, holiday is allowed to the employee
working in Tesco. He also works in a 0 hours contract. He also gets 3 breaks in a day two
fifteen minutes and one 45 minutes. And only 45 minutes and taken off from the working
hours. The pay scale goes up every 6 months and stops until Tesco would deny increasing
the pay scale. This job also requires being punctual, patient as will being able to work under
the pressure of the Company. Pravinkumar currently earns £7.21 an hour which is above the
minimum wage which means that Tesco is agreeing to pay the minimum wage to the
people, and are following the rules of the government. He gets paid monthly, this might not
be a good idea for the employee because the employee might need the money when they
have worked for a week and I think they might have been weekly so that the person can
spend money. Tesco also offers an employee discount cards to the employee which allows
the employee to get discount on the shops. Also the employee receives vouchers which the
employee can use it in the Tesco local stores. Tesco also allows promotion for their entire
employee however the employee should be worked there for 5 years in order to get the
promotion and get a higher post. My interview would like to become a manager of a store,
however to do this he will also have to update his training.
