What is Content Analysis?
The term has often implied a quantitative approach and a series of specific steps
aimed at ensuring systematic sampling, coding, and counting of units of media
content.
It is a research technique that aims to QUANTIFY CONTENT in terms of
PREDETERMINED CATEGORIES and in a systematic and replicable manner.
Simply, it is assigning units of content to predetermined categories and then
counting the number of units in each category.
It is ONLY about content, not effects.
Steps for Content Analysis
1. Develop an RQ/ Hypothesis:
You can ask questions ONLY about content, NOT, its effects
Descriptive questions about content can be asked
2. Define the content and units
What content is being studied
