The Successful Swallows, a popular South African soccer team, is facing their rivals, the Chanting Chiefs, also a popular South African soccer team, in the finals of the Golden Cup Championships. Thousands of tickets went on sale for this exciting event, but the tickets were sold out before many soccer enthusiasts could obtain tickets for the event. On the day of the match, three thousand Successful Swallows supporters, one of whom is X, is barred from entering the stadium. These supporters without tickets, including X, became violent and prevent the supporters of Chanting Chiefs, who have tickets, from entering the soccer stadium. The Successful Swallows supporters, armed with axes, stones and sticks, damage the Chanting Chiefs supporters’ cars by pelting it with stones and threaten all Chanting Chiefs supporters with death should they attempt to enter the stadium. During this time X, a Successful Swallows supporter, points his axe at Y, a Chanting Chiefs supporter, and threatens to decapitate Y there and then should Y enter the soccer stadium. Name the offences with which X may be charged in respect of his conduct and give reasons for your answers. You do not need to define the offences. X along with a number of persons which assumes serious proportions disturbed the public peace and order by violent means, or unlawfully to infringe the rights of Chanting Chiefs supporters. The act is accompanied by violence (throwing of stones and breaking down the cars).
