The strategy that I would use is outlining and summarizing. Outlining reveals the
basic structure of the text and summarizing synopsizes main idea or argument in the
text argument. Outlining and summarizing will hep the children to distinguish the
main idea from the supporting idea. In the story fat cat gets wet summarizing will
help the students understand the main idea which is that the cat thought his
