words in total.

elicit the target language from the context you have chosen, elicit the form, and concept check.

Show the Actual Words you would use for:

i) Eliciting the Target Language from the Context
Teacher: (Referring to one of the examples from the warmer activity – that has been written on the
board) Can anyone tell me how we can make one sentence out of these two sentences?
Student (James): Can we say, it is sunny over the weekend then I go to the beach?
T: Good try James. Is it the weekend right now?
Students: No
T: Okay good, so we need to put a word before the words it is, remember that it is not the weekend
yet so we don’t know for sure if it is going to be sunny. Can anyone think of a word we can use to start
the sentence?
S (Rachel): Can we use if?
T: Yes, good job Rachel. We use the word if. And what comes after if (teacher points to the first
sentence on the board)
S (Sam): It is sunny over the weekend.
T: Yes, Sam. Good job. If it is sunny over the weekend (Teacher writes If it is sunny over the weekend
on the board while saying it out loud)
T: So, if the weather is nice over the weekend or over your holiday, where are nice places to go?
S (Ryan): The shops
S (Sarah): The park
T: Those are nice places to go. What about outside where you can enjoy the sun?
S (Tim): The beach
T: Yes, the beach is nice to go to on hot and sunny days. Why is it nice to go to the beach when it’s
sunny?
S (Rachel): Because you can go into the water when it’s very hot.
