Die Infinitief
Remember that in Sv1TOMPv2I, the infinitive always goes to
the end. Only a ‘nie’ can follow the infinitive (Sv1TOMPv2IN)

*If behoort (future) is in sentence – drop so does not contradict!
*Remove subject from 2nd sentence – repetition
*Skeibare werkwoorde
o Present/future tense- split in infinitive
o Past tense – together in infinitive
*Read with comprehension, may have to drop auxiliary verbs e.g.
kan, moet
(Most likely to drop - check!)
*Changes:
o het – hê
o is – wees
*If changing from sodat + kan to OM
Drop sodat and kan
E.g. Jy moet water bespaar sodat jy die planeet kan help red
Jy moet water bespaar om die planeet te help red.
*Start with Om infinitive, verb, rest of the sentence

OM…TE:
(hou daarvan om…te ;probeer om…te ; besig om…te)

Formula:
(Subject) hou daarvan om (rest of sentence) te + (verb)
E.g., Taylor skryf graag liedjies
(S) + hou daarvan + om (rest of sentence) te + (verb)
Taylor hou daarvan om liedjies te skryf

E.g., Ek eet in die klas
Ek probeer om in die klas te eet

E.g., Ek eet in die klas
Ek is besig om in die klas te eet
