The factors of effective questioning are as follows:
Rephrasing questions so that they appear to be less demanding and more
comprehensive in application of thought.
Allowing time for answering questions gives improved well-thought through
answers.
Encourage discussion will enhance learning
Allowing students to write down their answer and fellow students reading answers
at random will enhance thoughtful reflection.
Practicing effective questioning techniques on the learners.
Discussing techniques with other teachers regarding effective questioning will allow
for better insight to effective questioning.
Asking about learners’ opinions instead of yes or no questions allows for better
understanding and much improved responses.
Ask questions that force the learners to apply information that they know.
Build-up learners’ comprehension skills by asking questions from the beginning of
the year.
Base questions on the content that the learners have been exposed to.
