Assignment 2
Semester 1 2022

, Using the extract above as a starting-point, write an argumentative essay in which you
agree or disagree whether Covid-19 has changed the world for the better. You should use
the following points to structure your essay:

• Approaches to teaching and learning;
• Working conditions;
• Economic conditions; and,
• Personal life.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic brought many changes to the world. COVID-19
has turned the world upside down and everything was impacted. How people live and

interact with each other, how we work and communicate, how people move around and
travel was all changed with the pandemic. The pandemic brought more bad news than
good news to the countries, economies and individuals and therefore, to a greater extend
I disagree that Covid-19 has changed the world for the better. The paper will argue on
how COVID-19 changed the approaches to teaching and learning; working conditions;
economic conditions; and, personal life.

and continuing education became a panacea for the unprecedented global pandemic,
despite the challenges posed to both educators and the learners (Basilaia & Kvavadze,
2020). Transitioning from traditional face-to-face learning to online learning can be an
entirely different experience for the learners and the educators, which they were
supposed to adapt to with little or no other alternatives available (Petrie, 2020). Many
students at home/living space have undergone psychological and emotional distress and
have been unable to engage productively.

The world of work was profoundly affected by the global virus pandemic. The working
conditions were dramatically changed with many losing their jobs and businesses closing.
The pandemic forced employers and employees to quickly pivot and change. Many of
these changes will undoubtedly impact the workplace for years to come (Alon et al.,
