Detailed annotations for 'Young & Dyslexic' by Benjamin Zephaniah, a non-fiction text GCSE students will need to know for questions 4 & 5 for their English language exam at the end of year 11. These annotations go through the whole text and point out which quotations would be best to use for Question 4 and which ones would be best for Question 5. These annotations got me a Grade 8 in my English Language GCSE! I have these annotations for every non-fiction text. Check out my uploads to get the others.

Young and dyslexic? You’ve got it going on, Benjamin
Zephaniah

As a child I suffered, but learned to turn dyslexia to my
advantage, to see the world more creatively. We are
the architects, we are the designers.

Zephaniah

As a child I suffered, but learned to turn dyslexia to my
advantage, to see the world more creatively. We are
the architects, we are the designers.

,I’m of the generation where teachers didn’t know
what dyslexia was. The big problem with the
education system then was that there was no
compassion, no understanding and no humanity. I
don’t look back and feel angry with the teachers. The
ones who wanted to have an individual approach
weren’t allowed to. The idea of being kind and
thoughtful and listening to problems just wasn’t done:
the past is a different kind of country.
