TASK 1: INTRODUCTION (20%)
Ubuntu, in its broadest sense, refers to a way of coexisting in society for the good of all. With the promotion of
Ubuntu, which unites them and reinforces communal life, Africans have a strong commitment to communal
living. Ubuntu has different meanings in different cultures.1
1.1 Definition of Ubuntu:
Compassion and humanity, two fundamental human virtues, are incorporated into the quality of ubuntu.2
‘Ubuntu’ represents the interconnection between all humans. It also demonstrates how a person can only
advance and grow as others advance and grow.
1.2 What does Ubuntu mean:
First of all, the word "uBuntu" means "human kindness”.3 The simplest way to define Ubuntu is "Umunty
ngumuntu ngabantu,"4 which translates to "a person is a person through other persons." Humans ought to treat
one another with respect and dignity.5 Ubuntu is a way of life. We are able to carry out justice on behalf of
