1 INTRODUCTION



Concepts, definitions, discussions, and hypotheses based on the following subjects
are provided in the ensuing assignment: the many media formats used by mass
media, democracy and the media, and the role that the media plays in contemporary
politics and the media environment. We'll go into great length on the role that the
media plays in contemporary politics, how the media actively influences politics (how
political statements are transformed by the media), and how the media environment
functions as the Fourth Estate. Additionally, the function of broadcast and print
media in democratic societies will be covered in detail. Finally, concepts related to
media formats will be defined, discussed, and shown using examples.




2 THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MASS MEDIA IN MODERN POLITICS
AND THE MEDIA ENVIRONMENT


The phrase "mass media" describes communication strategies that involve a broad
audience being informed in some way, shape, or form (Sociology Central 2011). As
an illustration, consider the dissemination of messages or communication by radio,
television, print media, online publications, and a variety of other channels. It is a
technology created to communicate with or reach a big audience, in other words
(Wings 2022). The mass media serves as the primary medium for communication
between and among the general public on a bigger scale (Wings 2022).
