 Sir Douglas-Home appeared 'Out of touch'. However some preferred
him to Wilson as he seemed more trustworthy.
 '13 wasted years'.
 Many blamed the conservatives for the mess of the economy.

Appeal of Labour
 Wilson was seen as a 'man of the public'.
 Promised a modern and scientific Britain.
 Labour stopped quarrelling in public and appeared more united.
 Labour didn’t actually gain that many more votes.
