PHYSICALLY
This type of development requires movement, exercises or play that requires
whole body movement. To implement this in with my learners I would;
Do more out door lessons
Do fitness exercises in class that suit there age
Jungle gym play everyday
This type of play helps with gross-motor development and also eye-hand
coordination.
EMOTIONALLY
This type deals mostly with felling and emotions. To implement this with my
learners I would created lessons that;
Helps strengthens children’s confidence.
Help learners to resolve inner fear
Promote children’s self control
Teaches children to learner to respect other people’s view points
SOCIALLY
This type deal with teaching a child how to interact with others. To promote
this in my class I would create lessons that;
Teaches children to lead or to follow
Develop children’s personality.
Promotes cultural identities.
Promotes positive self-image and builds self-esteem.
MENTALLY
This deal more with how you see or perceive things mentally. To promote this
in my class I would create lessons that deals with;

THINGS THAT ENCOURAGES LITERACY DEVELOPMENT
Tell stories or read books and magazines to promote listening. For
example, giving children books to read or if they are too young to read
give books with picture children can tell a story by looking at the picture.
And also parents can encourage children to go to libraries or take them
and also open library cards to borrow book if they are under privileged
to purchase any.
Play tapes or videos and then ask the children to relate what was said.
For example, I did this for my 3 years old daughter, I bought a DVD with
lots nursery rhythms e.g. ABC song, body parts, colours, numbers etc
and that helped me a lot because her vocabulary has improved
specifically English of which is not her first language or spoken at home.
Interact with the child verbally and encourage them to talk back. This
could help identify if the child is able to listen. This then seek assistance
if there is doubt about their hearing ability or if they need to be trained
to listen. For example at home when I’m teaching my 3 year old
daughter I don’t do baby talk . I also teach her a word in IsiZulu then
translate it to English while she repeats after me. This has improve her
literacy skills drastically and it is so impressive.
