= is het omzetten van geschreven of gedrukte woorden, woordgroepen en zinnen in gesproken taal en
het relateren van woorden aan hun betekenis.
Daarbij verliezen we nooit de drie pijlers van krachtig leesonderwijs uit het oog:

= Spellen – of leren spellen- is een toepassing van de code, om taal schriftelijke voor te stellen met
