OBJECTIVE SETTING; -Simple and unambiguous
-Assists greatly in establishing an organisational structure.It allows
each individual or committee to be given a number of their own specific targets which they
are responsible for attaining.
EVENT AIMS AND OBJECTIVES;
Objectives must be Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic, Timed
EVENT FEASIBILITY;
-A fundamental part of event planning process.
-Gather market info required to provide clear picture of the possibility of success for your
event.
-Various methods of market research which can be undertaken:
● Evaluation of the previous event
● Questionnaires, telephone surveys
● Face to face interviews
● Trade associations
● Government agencies
● Cultural differences
● Media
● Public consultation
ENVIRONMENTAL SCANNING:
-The external process is also called environmental scanning.
-From an environmental scan - opportunities and threats to the event are identified. These
are related to the organisation’s strengths and weaknesses.
-Complimented with a basic SWOT analysis.
PESTEL ANALYSIS; -Political -Economic -Social -Technological -Environmental -Legal
Organisations will instruct extensive market/data research both internally * externally - for
international events, consider this on a global scale.
